My HELM (Home Education Learning Meet-Ups)

Digital & Social Media Content Creator / Marketing Manager

The Brief:

Because of the Covid-19 lockdown, My HELM - a Brighton-based workshop provider for Home Education kids, teens, and their parents/carers - was seeking ways to promote and transform it's range of On Site activities to Online workshops, as well as maintain My HELM's presence as a home education community resource.

The Results:

I originally was brought on board to create a promotional video to introduce their series of online workshops which were offered as a socialization option during the Covid-19 lockdown.  During this unprecedented time, it was impossible to create original video content, so I had the workshop coaches shoot idents for themselves and their workshops on their mobile phones at home.  To fill in the narrative gaps, I used stock footage from Pexels and Unsplash, and music from BenSound.  My position expanded to include Digital & Social Media Content Creator and Marketing Manager where I created written and visual content to post on their Facebook page, and hosted their YouTube channel (April - September 2020).  As lockdown eased, I redesigned their website to announce the Summer Workshops and return to their On Site location and improve their landing and purchase pages' UX.

GIFs as Workshop Social Media & Digital Marketing Posts

I may have had a little too much fun designing these GIFs for promotional posts on Facebook and Eventbrite. Using Giphy's cheeky and playful animated stickers and special effects for text gave me a chance to explore digital display advertising.
