As a festive thank you to our generous supporters over the past year, Brighton Fashion Week and Spindle Magazine are hosting the Xmas Fash Bash on the 20th December at Madame Geisha’s Restaurant and Bar. At the event, Brighton Fashion Week will also announce the winner of the Face of Brighton Fashion Week 2012 .

Choosing the FACE OF BRIGHTON FASHION WEEK 2012

After reviewing the entries, scrutinizing how the models “work it” on the catwalks, and counting the public’s online votes, Brighton Fashion Week’s panel of industry stalwarts have narrowed down the finalists and chosen the Face of Brighton Fashion Week 2012 , to be announced at approx 10pm at the Xmas Fash Bash. Brighton Fashion Week is dedicated to giving aspiring models an opportunity to enhance their careers and hone their skills through a series of castings and catwalk training. Participating in Brighton Fashion Week has undoubtedly provided invaluable learning experiences and phenomenal opportunities for our winners to strut their stuff for the cream of the UK fashion industry and glitterati. Our genetically blessed winner will not only be required to give good face on BFW’s promotional material, he or she will also serve as an ambassador for Brighton Fashion Week 2012- so beauty AND brains are essential.

The Face of Brighton Fashion Week 2012 winner will receive a full professional portfolio shot by renowned fashion photographer Kevin Mason (founder and Creative Director of Create Studios), who has photographed top notch models such as Georgie Hobday, and full styling by stylist-of-the-moment Heather Falconer (editor of Spindle Magazine, Head Stylist for BFW 2012 and panelist for selecting and mentoring designers at BFW 2012), who’s previous clients include Kate Nash and Beth Jeans Houghton. This package has a monetary value of £1000, but the experience is priceless. Two runners-up and the public’s choice winner will also be announced at the event. They too will receive promotion and mentoring to help further their careers.

“Since being awarded ‘The Face of Brighton Fashion Week 2011’ last year,” says Soffe Nadine, the flame-haired pixie/vixen who originally came to Brighton to further her singing career, “I have gone from wanting to model to becoming a professional model.” Sofee was scouted and signed at BFW, and has worked with a brilliant succession of photographers ever since. Most notably, she recently filmed for an advert with Swatch. Sofee is looking forward to being involved with Brighton Fashion Week 2012 and hopes “other aspiring models will gain as much experience and success this year as I have from BFW.”

Now that’s proof positive that the Brighton Fashion Week ethos of collaboration and communal support pays off. So models who took part in the BFW 2011, make sure you stop by the party to cheer on and toast your friends and colleagues!

If Brighton’s breath-taking gale force winds have played havoc with your festive coiffure on the way to this merry event, Hairport UK (www.hairport.uk.com) will be on hand at the event to smooth out the kinks with their new mobile hairdressing concept, the Hairport Blow Dry Bar.

And, of course, there will be music! Nothing happens in Brighton without musical accompaniment! BUIL_DINGS and Normanton Street will hit the stage, inspiring us all to shed our wintertime blues and shake it, bang it, or groove it like we mean it! If that’s not enough to make your spirits soar, Dj’s Affy Go Bang and Johnny Rocks (Videodrome) will take you to a higher ground.
